2. In short

This website uses no trackers, no analytics tools and no advertising. Fonts and all other files are served from our own server. Data is only processed to deliver the site and to answer your enquiry.

3. Hosting and delivery

The website is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site quickly and securely and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

A data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU US Data Privacy Framework. Transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).

4. Automatic language selection

On your first visit to the home page, your browser's language setting and the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address are used to decide whether you see the German or the English version. This information is used for that single decision only and is not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

5. Cookies and local storage

If you switch the language yourself, a cookie named lang stores your choice (de or en) for one year. In your browser's session storage, the site remembers whether the intro animation has already been shown and whether a page transition is in progress (mh:booted, mh:arrive). These entries are deleted when you close the tab.

All three are strictly necessary and contain no personal data. No consent is required for them (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).

6. Fonts

All fonts are served from this server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other provider.

7. Live measurement

The figures in the measurement section (load time, stability, data transferred, frame rate) are calculated entirely in your browser and are not sent anywhere. Only if you click the link to PageSpeed Insights is the address of this page passed to Google.

8. Contact form, email and phone

The form does not send any data to a server. It opens your mail app with a prepared message. Nothing is transmitted until you send it yourself.

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details (for example name, email address, company and the content of your enquiry) to answer it and to prepare a possible project. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for general enquiries.

The mailbox is run on Gmail (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU US Data Privacy Framework.

9. Transfers to the USA

ValeoLegacy LLC is based in the USA. If you send us an enquiry, your details are therefore transferred to the USA. This is necessary to answer your enquiry and for pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 49 (1) (b) GDPR). The USA does not in every case offer the same level of protection as the EU.

10. Retention

Enquiries are deleted once they have been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply. If a contract is concluded, we keep the related correspondence for the statutory retention periods.

11. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object at any time to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). A short email to marc.hoels@gmail.com is enough.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).
